Sunfish

April 12 & 13, Seep Lakes, WA.
The 'gills crowded the shallow coves and took small poppers with abandon.
I fished for bass too, catching most of them on a bunny worm and - late in the day - two more on a deer hair bug.

The ocean sunfish, Mola mola, or common mola, is the heaviest known bony fish in the world. It has an average adult weight of 1 tonne. The species is native to tropical and temperate waters around the globe. It resembles a fish head with a tail, and its main body is flattened laterally. Sunfish can be as tall as they are long when their dorsal and ventral fins are extended.

Learned to fly fish in a little pond behind my house that had nothing but perch... No matter how many trout or salmon I catch on a fly rod, I still enjoy catching sunperch

Great pictures and a nice site. Looks like you haven't been fishing in a while, I know the feeling, I am from the frozen tundra that has been Connecticut! Stop by and say hi at ifishct.com, and maybe we can exchange links so we can keep up with each other when fishing season comes along. - Erick
